📧 Setting Up Sender Profile, Delivery Profile & Send Classification in Salesforce Marketing Cloud


📌 Introduction

In Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), sending emails efficiently requires configuring three key components:

  • Sender Profile
  • Delivery Profile
  • Send Classification

These ensure your emails are properly branded, compliant, and deliverable 🚀


🧩 Step 1: Add Email in From Address Management

Navigate using either path:

  • Email Studio → Admin → From Address Management
    OR
  • Setup → Platform Tools → Feature Settings → Email Studio → From Address Management

🧩 Step 2: Add & Verify Email Address

Inside From Address Management, you’ll see options:

  • Register Domain
  • Import
  • Add Email Address ✅ (we use this)

👉 Click Add Email Address
👉 Enter your email (e.g., abc@gmail.com)
👉 Verify it via Gmail

🧩 Step 3: Create Sender Profile

Go to:

👉 Email Studio → Admin → Sender Profiles

Click Create


🔹 Define Properties

  • Name (Required) → ABC Company
  • External Key
  • Description

🔹 Define Sender Information

Choose one option:

Option 1: Select from List

(Previously verified email)

Option 2: Use Specified Information

  • From Name: ABC Company
  • From Email: abc@gmail.com (must be verified)

🔹 Custom Reply Mail Management Settings

Options include:

  • Use this rule collection
  • If no stop action is triggered
  • Forward reply to:
    • Name (Required)
    • Address (Required)
  • Automatically reply using triggered send

🧩 Step 4: Go to Delivery Profiles

Navigate to:

👉 Email Studio → Admin → Delivery Profiles

Click Create


🔹 Define Properties

  • Name
  • External Key
  • Description

🔹 Delivery Information

  • IP Address
  • Header
  • Footer

Navigate to:

👉 Email Studio → Admin → Send Classifications

Click Create


🔹 Define Properties

  • Name (Required)
  • External Key
  • Description

🔹 CAN-SPAM Classification

Choose one:

  • Commercial
  • Transactional

👉 Ensures compliance with

  • CAN-SPAM Act

🔹 Sender Information

  • Select Sender Profile
  • Select Delivery Profile

🔹 Send Priority

  • Normal
  • Low

Step 1: Navigate

👉 Setup → Settings → Company Settings → Account Settings


Step 2: Configure

Choose from:

  • HTML Header / HTML Footer
    OR
  • Text Header / Text Footer

Steps:

  1. Go to Content
  2. Select your email
  3. Click Send

🔹 While Sending:

  • Select Sender Profile
  • Select Delivery Profile
  • Select Send Classification
